Configure Netscape 2.01 or newer for ProQuest Direct
1. Set the frequency that your browser checks for updated files:
(1) Choose General Preferences from the Options menu.
2. Associate the PDF content type with Adobe Acrobat Reader:
If you are using Netscape 2.01:
(1) Choose General Preferences from the Options menu.

If you are using Netscape 4.05, you must also:
(1) Choose Preferences from the Edit menu. A dialog box will open.
(2) Click the Appearance tab.
(3) Set page links to Expire at 1 day intervals.
(4) Click OK.
(5) Choose Network Preferences from the Options menu.
(6) Click the Cache tab.
(7) Set verify document to Every Time.
(8) Click OK.
(2) Click the Helpers tab.
(3) Click Create New Type.
(4) In the MIME Type field, type: application
(5) In the MIME SubType field, type: pdf
(6) Click OK.
(7) In the File Extensions field, type: pdf
(8) For Action, select Launch the Application.
(9) Type the full pathname of the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
(10) Click OK.
(1) Choose Network Preferences from the Options menu.
(2) Click the Protocols tab.
(3) Under Show an Alert before, make sure that Accepting a cookie is
unchecked.
(4) Click OK.
(2) In the left frame, click Advanced. On the right,
click "Accept all cookies" AND de-select "Warn me before accepting a
cookie."
(3) In the left frame, click the icon to the left of Advanced to
display the menu options underneath. Click
Cache. On the right, under "Document in cache is compared to document
on network," click "Every time."
(4) On the left, click Navigator. On the right, in the History area,
set history to expire after 1 day.
