Oakland Library Consortium (OLC)

• OLC partners share their collections and library catalogs:
  
  
  • Carnegie Mellon University Libraries
  • The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh
  • University of Pittsburgh Library System*
    *Some Pitt libraries are not OLC partners: Fine Arts, Law, Nursing, and Western Psych; Bradford, Greensburg, Johnstown, and Titusville.
    
    
• You can get library cards and borrow from other OLC libraries:
  
  
  • The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh
  • Go to the Main Library lending desk, 1st floor.
  • Show current Carnegie Mellon ID and proof of local residence (i.e. a bill or letter addressed to you in Allegheny County).
    
    
  • University of Pittsburgh Library System
    • Go to the Hillman Library circulation desk, lower level.
    • Show current Carnegie Mellon ID.
    • Get Special Borrower card.
    • To borrow books, show your Special Borrower card at participating Pitt libraries.
      
      
  • The Carnegie staff can borrow from Carnegie Mellon University Libraries:
    • First: Get a borrowing authorization letter from your supervisor or The Carnegie Library administration.
    • Show current Carnegie ID (or other photo ID) and borrowing authorization letter.
      
      
  • University of Pittsburgh students, faculty and staff can borrow from Carnegie Mellon University Libraries:
    • To borrow books, show current University of Pittsburgh ID at Engnineering & Science, Hunt, or Mellon Institute libraries.
